Kinetic Poem For Piano And Orchestra, Score

Kinetic Poem is, after two piano concertos and Dialogues for piano and orchestra, Meriläinen's fourth and latest work (1981) in which the piano plays a concertante role. The piano-orchestra relationship is synergetic: small motifs, which draw their material from the spectacular solo part, are rotated by the orchestra and change their form, only to he absorbed back into the relentless solo stream.
